🟢 About Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) is a regional political party born from the struggle to protect the identity, culture and rights of the tribal communities of the Chotanagpur and Santhal regions. The party has been at the forefront of the historic movement that led to the formation of the State of Jharkhand on 15 November 2000.
Founded under the inspiring leadership of Dishom Guru Shibu Soren, JMM emerged as a voice for the marginalized, demanding dignity, justice and equal opportunities for the people of the region. The party’s journey reflects decades of resistance against exploitation, displacement, and neglect of tribal and rural populations.

On 15 November 2000, Jharkhand emerged as a new state of India — a historic milestone guided by the sacrifice and determination of countless supporters and leaders of JMM.
